When is Thanksgiving?
In the United States, Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday of November, so it always falls between November 22 and November 28. (Canadian Thanksgiving is different: the second Monday of October.)
Why the date changes every year
Thanksgiving is tied to a weekday rather than a calendar date. Since 1942 US federal law has fixed it as the fourth Thursday of November. The Friday after, often called Black Friday, is a day off for many workers, making it a four-day weekend.
